Sydney (the dog, not the city)

I miss Sydney. Her floppy-tongued way of getting excited when she was getting brushed out...the way she completely ignored her handicap (missing a front leg) when it suited her...the time she lurked by the table during dinner and when I paused with a bit of beef on my fork, while talking, she reared up and snapped the meat right off the tines.

I remember back in LA, we'd take her to the Sepulveda Basin Off-Leash Dog Park, and on the way home we'd swing through the drive through at McDonald's and get her a cheeseburger. Soon she realized that whenever we left the park, she'd get a cheeseburger, so she started wanting to leave immediately, as soon as we got to the park. She was (and I presume, still is) pretty sharp.

When it was windy, or stormy, she'd come into our bedroom and jump up on the bed and snuggle in between us. Deathly afraid of storms and wind. Like a child, just furry.
