in praise of jessica alba vs. playboy

Brief note to state my support for Jessica Alba in her dispute with Playboy. That she places her position in Hollywood on the line to fight the media pimps (and the real pimps, let's face it) is refreshing. That they would pander with a misleading cover just shows how sad they are, unflinchingly avoiding reality.

For those of you unfamiliar with the case, she has filed papers to force the latest issue off the stands, as it uses a publicity shot of her from a movie last year on the cover, implying that she appears in the magazine. She does not appear, and has declined serious money from them in the past to pose for them.
