Arabesque

with a special, most honorific, nod to the genius of Edgar Allan Poe

Arabesque

my treasure
my pleasure
most fortunate one
be merry
with sherry
I have hid from the sun

and if you
continue
to harden my heart
be aware
in my stare
lays a grim work of art

Anyone want to guess how many references to the story (you have to know that!) that inspired this poem that there are in it?
