okay...it's Monday, which means...er...nothing

They say we're due for thunderstorms later today. We shall see what happens.

I have been tweaking the website and my processes, as I become even more proactively hands-on. I am in the middle of evaluating a move of my newsletter mailing list from AuthorsDen to Google Groups. I submitted my mailing list at GG and they put me on hold...it seems the mailing list was long enough to make them look twice to make sure I am not a spammer. Good for them, as long as it does not hold me up too long...I hate delays, but respect their intent.

Spoke with Twist last night about her intro to the next book...she seems to be on good track...she even dug up an interview she did with me a few years ago, on deep background...remarkably, I was lucid in it.

Several old friends have started a semi-official lobbying effort to get me to move back to Los Angeles. My position remains the same...yes, it is home (home is where you feel the peace...Venice will always be home to me, even if I never get back there). I just have some things I need to see to at this time...like generating some money to resolve some of the bills that I find myself carrying (some which I did not create, but took on out of a sense of charity...someone with my credit rating being charitable: Right. But such is the nature of love. No regrets, I am better than that.)

Should have a final sense of what is going to happen with the book cover in the next few days. I want the model (for the cover, get your mind out of the gutter. t gets crowded since I am already there). She adds several things to the tapestry. Her beauty will attract attention. The cross-genre pollination will help both of us. And, anytime my name is associated with an attractive woman, there will be rumours, which is good for publicity. Besides, she brings an abstract realization that is closer to the essence of "The Panther Cycles" than the real thing. Hmmm...maybe I should consider New York.

This week we shall see how receptive the local media is going to be to The Morgantown Suite Poems. I am not holding my breath, no percentage in it. But, after my sociological schooling by Thomas, I at least have a grasp of the subcultural forces that have, in the past, so perplexed me. The welcome wagon has not been parked anywhere near me, so far. From the perverse apathy of local schools to the open and ignorant hostility of others, it has been a depressing year. Still, despite last minute recutting, the book made it into the world, where it is no longer my problem.

Still do not have word yet on what I am to do for Peri's birthday. Sigh. People are so complicated. I will dutifully wait for instructions.

Wished Gina a happy NA "birthday" yesterday...Ann's is coming up. Still proud of you, kid.

Speaking of proud, very proud of Elric for doing what he had to do this past weekend to get caught up in school. And thankful that Jan did what she had to do. Good going.
