Caffeine withdrawal and virtual Mondays

The day after a Monday holiday is a virtual Monday...a day where the work week starts and everything sems to be displaced.

Add to that the fact that I am right now going through a caffeine withdrawal and my mod is, while not foul, not as charitable as it is usually known to be.

It would be a bad morning to piss me off, in other words.

I have been maving some fun on MySpace.com, meeting people. I keep finding myself, though, running into unruly herds of teenagers who either a) gripe about how many "really old" people over 20 who use the service b) think they can write, and can't and c) like to post semi-pornographic pictures of themselves or others for their profiles. The girls are annoying enough, the guys are just pathetic.

However, I am slowing picking through the chaff to find the people worth conversing with. While not perfect methods, skills I picked up a a BBS sysop twenty years ago, and while working with the Writers Club on AOL do come in handy...

Do parents ever check to see what their kids are doing online? Obviously not. Yes, children. Fifteen year old girls who post pictures of themselves in tube tops with the "f" word in their profile and write badly mangled poems (with badly mangled grammar and horrific spelling) about their latest crush and post them for the world to see (including, I imagine, him and his buddies) probably are not getting a critical eye cast their way from Mommy and Daddy.

Ah...virtual Monday and no caffeine.

Gotta run...check out the blog this evening for some updates on the books...and maybe I'll post a few new poems on here just to show I am fickle.
