Rutgers 28 - Louisville 25

I am right now watching the Louisville versus Rutgers skirmish on ESPN. Wow.

As an alumnus of WVU, I wish we'd played it that tough...but we get our shot at Rutgers in a few weeks.

Final score: Rutgers 28 - Louisville 25

Wow. Let's hear it for the Big East in college football. It's anybody's conference now.

I live in Jersey. My daughter's a senior at Rutgers, and all I know about this game is that while on my way to pick up my daughter from campus at dusk, I turned onto Route 18 South and saw shadows on the road, lots of them, in places where they should not be, in the median, on the shoulder, weaving almost onto the highway. Traffic on the opposite side was at a standstill. Finally, it dawned on me "football game."

In the distance, I saw lights at the Rutgers stadium and cursed my daughter's decision to go to the main campus for pick up instead of stay on the Livingston where her class is located. Once on the main campus, College Campus, I saw monster bus after monster bus. Once I collected my child, I turned the corner and saw students hanging out bars, restaurants, buying liquor from liquor stores, and got held up waiting for an ambulance to take away someone who appeared to be "falling down drunk."

And these are all the reasons I avoid college football games.

But I'm glad they won. Go Knights! ;-)
